An Inspector Calls
John Boynton "J. B." Priestley, OM, was an English novelist, playwright, scriptwriter, social commentator, and broadcaster. He was born on the 13th September 1894 and died on the 14th August 1984. J.B. Priestley is the author of "An Inspector Calls" which he wrote in 1945. He was a writer from 1930-1984. He knew from a young age that he wanted to be a writer but he worked at a wool factory when he was 16. During WW1, he was a soldier and in WW2 he broadcasted a weekly radio programme. Although it was popular at the time, it was shut down because the conservatives found it to be too far left wing.
